How can we help?

Getting started

Who can distribute with Green Salad Records?

Any independent artist, band, producer, DJ or label who owns the rights to their music. Apply through our contact form and we'll set up your account.

How much does it cost?

Starter is free and you keep 85% of royalties. Pro costs from £3.99/month and you keep 100%. Labels get a custom deal. See pricing.

Do I need to sign an exclusive contract?

No. Our distribution agreement is non-exclusive per release and you can leave at any time.

How quickly will you respond to my application?

We reply to every application within 24 hours on business days.

Releases

What file formats do you accept?

Audio: WAV or FLAC, minimum 16-bit / 44.1 kHz, stereo. Artwork: 3000×3000 px, JPG or PNG, RGB, no blurry images, logos of stores or URLs.

How long until my release is live?

Our review takes about 48 hours. Most stores go live within 1–5 days after delivery. For playlist pitching, set your release date at least 3–4 weeks ahead.

Do I get ISRC and UPC codes?

Yes, both are free on every plan. If you already have codes, we'll use yours.

Can I release covers and remixes?

Covers are allowed once the mechanical license is cleared — we can help you with that. Remixes need written permission from the original rights holders.

Can I change metadata after release?

Yes. Contact support with the changes. Some fields (like track titles) may require redelivery to stores.

Can I take my music down?

Yes, anytime. Takedowns usually take effect on stores within a few days.

Royalties & payouts

When do I get paid?

Stores report earnings 1–3 months after streams happen. Once reported, royalties appear in your statement and are paid out monthly.

Which payment methods do you support?

Bank transfer (IBAN / SWIFT), PayPal and Wise.

Is there a minimum payout?

Yes, £10. Smaller balances roll over to the next month.

How do royalty splits work?

On Pro and Label plans you can set percentage splits per track. Each collaborator receives their share directly with their own statement.

YouTube & Content ID

What is Content ID?

YouTube's system that identifies your music in other users' videos so ad revenue from those videos goes to you.

My own video got claimed. What do I do?

Send us your channel link and we'll whitelist it so your own uploads are never claimed.

Can you set up my Official Artist Channel?

Yes. Once you have releases distributed through us and a YouTube channel, we submit the OAC request for you.

Rights & legal

Who owns my music?

You do — 100% of your masters and compositions. We only receive a non-exclusive license to distribute.

Can I move my catalog from another distributor?

Yes. We migrate your releases using your existing ISRC codes, so you keep your stream counts and playlist placements.

What happens if someone steals my music?

Report it to us. We file takedowns on stores and claim unauthorized uploads on YouTube and social platforms.
